College football recruits have a lot to keep in mind. Unfortunately, many recruits eliminate themselves from scholarship consideration without even realizing it!
Checkout the Top Things that College Coaches “Secretly Evaluate,” before offering an athlete a scholarship or roster spot.
It’s important for athletes to utilize this information to their advantage, so they can standout from the competition and accomplish their goals.
Time is of the essence!
Bad Body Language:
This is still one of the most telling signs for a coach at any level to evaluate. If an athletes body language is horrible and disrespectful, nothing that comes out of that athletes mouth is going to matter.
Keep in mind, a college recruiter may be watching from a distance and a recruit may never know it. Athletes need to make sure their Body Language doesn’t blur the Coaches perception of them as a potential recruit.
Who the Athlete Hangs-out With:
It sounds cliché, but it’s true. “Birds of a feather, flock together!” Serious athletes, like hanging out with like-minded people. If the people an athlete hangs out with aren’t positive, motivated and hungry for success. Then what does that say about the athlete?
Remember, it’s going to be easier for negative people to pull others down, then it will be for people to pull them up. Athletes can’t let who they hang out with affect who they can become.
Respect From Peers:
Athletes who are not respected by their teammates can’t help the coach. Coaches are constantly evaluating which players can be an extension of the coaching staffs values and vision.
How can a coach recommend an athlete to a college recruiter, if no one on the team respects him?
Athletes have to work hard and make sure they are a team player. This will ensure they never have an issue gaining their teammates or coaches respect!
